Itinerary

These 5 and 7-Night Cruises from Limassol will call at the following ports. Port schedule may vary by sail date and itinerary:

Athens, Greece (5-Night Cruise to Haifa)

Athens offers a looking glass back in time into Greece’s powerful ancient civilization. Art lovers, epicureans and history buffs will be delighted by the ancient ruins, museums and tavernas of this picturesque town. Just 10 minutes from the port, you’ll find the Archaeological Museum of Piraeus, filled with sculptures from the Bronze Age to the Romans. Walk to the Zea Harbour to discover how the Hellenic Maritime Museum will bring to life the grandeur of ancient Greece’s naval capacities. Jump onboard an Athens cruise and relax at the small harbour of Mikrolimano, enjoying a meal of grilled octopus and chilled white wine at a small restaurant overlooking the sea.

Thessaloniki, Greece (7-Night Greece & Turkey)

Thessaloniki overlooks the Aegean against the backdrop of Mount Olympus. Steeped in mythology and the warm Mediterranean sun, Greece’s ‘Second City’ is a first-class delight that welcomes visitors with its Byzantine churches, ancient ruins, historic monuments and the lively ambience of its cafe-lined waterfront. Cruise to Thessaloniki and visit Mount Olympus, now Greece’s first national park; The White Tower, dating back to the 15th century, now home to Byzantine art and the icon of the city; and the ancient church that was built in the 4th century in honour of the city’s patron saint, Hagios Demetrius.

Istanbul, Turkey (7-Night Greece & Turkey)

Once the seat of two massive empires, Istanbul has been shaped by its colourful history. From massive Byzantine churches that still captivate visitors’ attention to towering Ottoman mosques, history can be found in each building no matter what part of the city you wander through. Architecture buffs will get a thrill from the ancient buildings while foodies will spend their day indulging in traditional Turkish cuisine, like doner kebabs and lamb kefta. If you’re looking to take a memory home from the city, head to the Grand Bazaar and try your hand at haggling with the locals.

Mykonos, Greece (7-Night Greece & Turkey, 5-Night Cruise to Haifa)

Nestled in the heart of Greece’s Cyclades archipelago, Mykonos pulses with irrepressible energy. With its powder-white houses, sparkling blue waters, and red-hot nightlife, The Island of the Winds is as colourful as the people who call the island home. You can walk narrow marble pathways laced with purple bougainvillaea blooms or go cycling on two wheels past off-the-path Ano Mera village. Explore Greece’s maritime history at Armenistis Lighthouse, and check out the Folklore Museum’s Mykonian ship models. Join in the raucous beach party on Super Paradise’s shimmering sands, or watch the sun burn out beyond an Aegean horizon from an open-air seaside taverna.

Rhodes, Greece (7-Night Greece & Turkey, 5-Night Cruise to Haifa)

The Colossus might not be standing any more, but the Greek island of Rhodes still delivers beauty and allure on a giant scale. The island instantly greets you with serene white-sand beaches and wide-open blue skies. See the site in the harbour where the now-destroyed wonder of the ancient world once stood. Then, head to the Old Town, surrounded by medieval walls and seven ancient gates. Don’t miss the Palace of the Grandmaster, with its mosaic floors dating from Hellenic, Roman and early Christian times. Shop for a colourful menagerie of seashells by the shoreline – and don’t forget to spend some time relaxing beside the translucent blue waves with your Greece cruise.

Port Said, Egypt (7-Night Israel & Egypt)

Cruise to Port Said, Egypt’s third-most-important city, a melting pot of various nationalities and religions form Mediterranean countries and discover the many architectural styles that display its cosmopolitan heritage beautifully. You can visit the Suez Canal Authority Building, constructed in 1895 as the first building on the shores of the canal; or go see about 9,000 archaeological pieces and exhibits dating back to prehistoric and Pharonic times at the Port Said National Museum; and contemplate the Statue of de Lesseps, which was brought down after the people of Port Said succeeded in keeping invaders from coming into their beloved city. And don’t miss seeing the impressive sight of the seaport and the old town.

Alexandria, Egypt (7-Night Israel & Egypt)

Founded by Alexander the Great in 332 BC, Alexandria was once the capital of Graeco-Roman Egypt and the Hellenic centre of learning. Today, Egypt’s leading port offers a Mediterranean feel and is the gateway to legendary sights. Cruise to Alexandria and learn the ancient history of this great city. Visit wonders that will take your breath away, such as The Pyramids of Giza; the Sphynx, carved from the bedrock of the Giza plateau; and the Citadel of Saladin, the fortress built to protect Cairo.

Jerusalem (Ashdod), Israel (7-Night Israel & Egypt)

After you arrive at the port at Ashdod, it’s a one-hour drive to Jerusalem, the city sacred to Jews, Muslims and Christians alike. Enter the Old City through one of the eight gates, built in the early 16th century by the Turkish Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent — see the ferocious-looking animal carvings of the Lion’s Gate or the flower rosettes carved above Herod’s Gate. Cruise to Jerusalem and take in the smell of Arabian coffee, incense and spices at one of the markets of the Old City as you venture to the historic Wailing Wall. Enter the Church of the Holy Sepulcher and see its ornate shrines and austere icons. Then, head to the nearby Dome of the Rock, with its distinctive gold dome and traditional Islamic geometric designs.

Haifa, Israel (7-Night Israel & Egypt, 5-Night Cruise to Haifa)

Set on the slopes of Mount Carmel, Haifa is Israel’s Mediterranean oasis. Stroll around the smart German Colony, with its restored streets settled in the 1860s lined with restaurants, cafes and art galleries. Continue toward the tropical Bah’ai Gardens, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and take a meditative walk around the 19 different terraced gardens. Cruise to Haifa, Israel and visit the Shrine of the Bab, with its striking golden dome composed of 12,000 tiles. For even better views, climb up to the Viewing Balcony to look down on the shrine and out toward the Mediterranean Sea. Perhaps it’s time to relax on the beach now? Pop down to Bat Galim for windsurfing or a stroll along the boardwalk.
